Could it be true? Is Ed Sheeran coming to perform in Dubai next year?

The website, edsheerantourdates.com, seems to think so. The site lists Sheeran’s confirmed tour dates, including the Philippines on March 12 and Australia on March 20, as well as a Dubai Media City concert on March 5, 2015, and dates in India, Qatar and Oman, that are nowhere to be seen on Sheeran’s official website.

Fuelling the rumour, Capital FM radio in the UK teamed up with the Make Some Noise charity this month to find one winner to be flown to Dubai to meet Sheeran, though it did not mention specific dates.

When contacted by tabloid!, Sheeran’s management said that the Dubai performance has not yet been confirmed. tabloid! contacted local event organisers, none of whom could confirm the concert.

23-year-old Sheeran broke out in 2011 with his debut album, +, which earned him two Brit Awards for British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist. He also received three Grammy nominations, one of which was for his feature on Taylor Swift’s album, Red.

In concert, the singer-songwriter is known for creating a haunting, layered sound courtesy of his loop pedal. He performs a mixture of moving acoustic ballads (Give Me Love, The A Team), fast-paced, defiant anthems (You Need Me, I Don’t Need You), and radio-friendly pop tunes (Sing).

Sheeran’s 2014 sophomore album, x, came on the heels of his successful support act slot on Taylor Swift’s The Red Tour. Within its first week of sales, x charted at No. 1 in twelve countries.

Sheeran, currently on a headlining tour to promote his second record, is also known for his collaborations with Pharrell Williams and One Direction.
