You know things are really weird in politics when the Britons start feeling sorry for the people of the United States (um, Brexit, anyone?).

Pop queen Adele bantered with the audience at Monday night’s Verizon Center show, first asking whether anyone had watched the presidential debate the night before. To the audience’s groans, the London native sympathised with some profanity. “I’m embarrassed for you,” she added.

And even though she probably won’t be voting in the US election (she’s a British citizen, and there is no word on her having dual citizenship), Adele still has her favourite candidate.

“I watched the debate, and you should know who I like and who I do not [expletive] like,” she said.
