When I read a blurb on the back cover of the book, I wanted to read it. Initially from the title, it appears that the book is another addition to the self-help books. However, it is not. The book is divided into three parts.
The first part talks about a journey of a child to becoming an astronaut. The author talks about what this journey taught him. This part is more like a memoir. He focuses on his struggle to be an astronaut. There’s use of some technical language, but not heavy technical words, which might force you to keep the book away.
In the second part, he talks about being in space. The focus is on how you need to be alert, what effects zero gravity have on your body and how to do day-to-day activities in space. He also played a guitar in space. This part is interesting and forced me to see the video on YouTube. Do check his videos online.
The third part is focused on life on Earth after coming back from space. Time that he spent in space has changed his view towards how we live. He also described the effects on our body.
Overall it is an easy read. I met the author at Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, 2016 and it was a pleasure to attend his session. He is not at all like I imagined him to be. I thought he would be a serious person, but he turned out to be a multi-talented personality, an astronaut, a singer, an author and an inspiration to many. He made an effort to talk to all the children who attended his session. I also got a chance to get my book signed by him.
