Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has proved beyond doubt that she can kick some serious butt as an FBI agent and is flexible enough to have some fun inside a car with a guy she barely knows.

Welcome to the world of Alex Parrish, played by Chopra in her first US television thriller, Quantico. The series, which has been picked up by US network ABC and premieres this autumn, follows a diverse group of recruits who have arrived at the FBI Quantico Base in Virginia for training. They all have a past that they are not proud of, but are hoping that the training camp will help them serve their country better.

The trailer was released on Tuesday as part of the TV upfronts, where each network presents their upcoming schedule to advertisers.

“This is the toughest boot camp and hardest grad school rolled into one,” warns special agent Liam O’Connor (Dougray Scott). The scene may remind you of Grey’s Anatomy’s wide-eyed interns.

The next few scenes shows the brightest (and very multicultural) minds going through the training grind with much flirtation in between lessons. The candidates are charged with finding out eachother’s secret pasts as an elimination test, but they are unwittingly caught up in a web of deceit and deception when a deadly terrorist attack is carried out on US soil. Parrish learns that it’s an inside job and is forced to get to the bottom of it because her life hangs in the balance.

Just like a Bollywood drama, Quantico also seems to have enough twists to keep your interests piqued.

While Chopra — who has acted in over 40 Bollywood films and has recently attempted to break into the US pop scene — looks sexy and sorted, there’s some debate on her English accent, which keeps oscillating from neutral to a slight American twang.

But that’s a tiny blip on an otherwise interesting trailer that’s being embraced by her fans and industry colleagues in Bollywood.
