From Shweta Tiwari to Salman Khan, Bollywood shocked by the death of Bigg Boss 13 winner and Indian TV actor Sidharth Shukla

The death of Bollywood actor Sidharth Shukla was as sudden as it was shocking. The 40-year-old died on Thursday after suffering a major cardiac arrest. Mumbai's Cooper Hospital confirmed the news of his death. Fellow actors and stars expressed their shock on Twitter. The hospital said that the ‘Bigg Boss 13’ contestant had taken some sleeping pills and just didn’t wake up.

Shukla was well known for his friendship with ‘Bigg Boss’ co-contestant Shehnaaz Gill, with whom he stared in several music videos.

Shukla debuted as a lead in ‘Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na’ in 2008. Come 2014, he landed a supporting role in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. He became best known for his stints in reality shows ‘Bigg Boss 13’ and ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7’, both of which he won. He hosted ‘Savdhaan India’ and ‘India's Got Talent’.

Salman Khan took to Twitter to express his sadness over Sidharth's sudden death and to convey his condolences to his family and loved ones. He wrote, ‘Gone too soon Siddharth.. u shall be missed. Condolences to the family .. RIP.’

Sidharth Shukla's Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania co-star Varun Dhawan shared a post with a picture of himself, Sidharth Shukla and actress Alia Bhatt, who played the titular 'dulhania.' "RIP brother. You are loved by so many and you touched so many with your kind heart and beautiful personality. Today heaven has gained a star and we have lost one. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones."

Actor Manoj Bajpayee took to Twitter to pay tribute. He wrote, "OMG!!! This is So Shocking!!! Words will fail to describe the shock and sense of loss of his near and dear ones !!! May he rest in peace !!! No yaar !!!!"

'Bell Bottom' actor Akshay Kumar tweeted: ''Really sad to know about the passing away of #SiddharthShukla. I didn’t know him personally but it’s heartbreaking to know of such a talented life gone so soon. Om Shanti''.

His 'Bigg Boss' co-contestant Himanshi Khurana tweeted: "Kahani aise khatam hui ki sab ro diye taliya bjate (the story ended and everyone broke into applause with tears in their eyes) #ripsidharthshukla. I’m thinking about Shehnaz what she’s going through ... my love I wish main apke lie waha hoti (I wish I was there for you)''.

Director Hansal Mehta pointed out how young he was. He tweeted: "No age to have a heart attack. No age to go. This is extremely sad and disturbing. Hope this time for sadness, reflection and mourning does not get converted into a Tamasha by some idiots."

Actor and comedian Sunil Grover tweeted: “Shocked and sad to know about Sidharth Shukla. Gone too soon. Prayers. Rest in peace.”

Kiara Advani wrote, "Gosh this is Heartbreaking!! May your soul RIP #SidharthShukla My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones."

Madhuri Dixit wrote, "It's just unbelievable and shocking. You will always be remembered @sidharth_shukla . May your soul rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to the family."

Shweta Tiwari expressed shock and wrote, "What??? This is heartbreaking."

Comedian Kapil Sharma wrote, "Oh god, it’s really shocking n heartbreaking, my condolences to the family n prayers for the departed soul. Om Shanti (sic)."

Sonu Sood wrote, "Hard to believe he is no more, my heartfelt condolences go to his family. RIP my friend, u will be missed (sic)."

Vikrant Massey paid tribute to the late Sidharth Shukla. The actor shared a photo of the actor with a touching message. ''Absolutely stunned into silence! Your untimely death is yet again a reminder of the fragility of life! Deepest condolences of the family, friends and fans!''.
