‘Thalaivii’: Actress Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Thalaivii’, the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha, was earlier scheduled to release on June 26, 2020, but it was delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But Ranaut and its makers are particular about their ambitious film getting a theatrical release. They have now set a new date. “The story of this iconic personality deserves to be witnessed only on the big screen! Pave way, for #Thalaivii as she is all set to make a superstar entry into the world of cinema, yet again, a place where she has always belonged! Thalaivii IN CINEMAS near you on 10th September! #ThalaiviiOnTheBigScreen #ThalaiviiInTheatres,” wrote Ranaut.

‘Maidaan’: This sports drama, starring Ajay Devgn, will release on October 15. The film was earlier slated to release in August 2021, but its release got postponed due to the second wave of COVID-19 sweeping India. “‘Maidaan’ now releases worldwide in theatres on Dussehra 2021. Shoot commences January 2021,” wrote Devgn on Twitter. ‘Maidaan’ chronicles the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who put India on the global map. The film has already been shot across Lucknow, Kolkata and Mumbai.

‘Loop Lapeta’: Starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin, this thriller is scheduled to release on October 22. It’s being described as a psychological drama about a young woman trying to help her boyfriend untangled from a messy crisis. Recently Pannu was spotted in Goa filming the last leg of the film.

‘Laal Singh Chaddha’: Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan come bearing gifts this Christmas. ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is the Hindi-language adaptation of Hollywood blockbuster ‘Forrest Gump’ starring Tom Hanks. It’s slated to release on December 20.

‘Tadap – An Incredible Love Story’: This film marks the debut of Suniel Shetty’s son Ahan Shetty and will release on December 3. This Sajid Nadiadwala-production, also starring Tara Sutaria, was earlier scheduled to release on September 24.

‘Cirkus’: You can end 2021 with a bang. Director Rohit Shetty and actor Ranveer Singh will bid goodbye to this tumultuous year with the comedy ‘Cirkus’. In this film, Singh plays a double role. The movie also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde. It’s the official adaptation of the 1982 movie ‘Angoor’, based on William Shakespeare’s play ‘The Comedy of Errors’.

‘KGF: Chapter 2’: The much-awaited period epic ‘KGF: Chapter 2’, featuring Yash, Prakash Raj and Raveena Tandon, will release on April 14, 2022. Directed by Prashanth Neel, this film was earlier scheduled to release in July this year, but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this week, the makers announced that they have set a new release date. The movie will now be out on April 14 this year. “The uncertainties of today will only delay our resolve, but the eventuality is as promised. We will be out in theatres on April 14th 2022,” tweeted ‘KGF 2’ producers.
