Bollywood baby boom: Kareena Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and more celebrate parenthood

Bollywood royalty Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan are now parents to another baby boy. In a statement issued on the birth of their their second son, the proud father Khan said: “We have been blessed with a baby boy. Mom and baby are safe and healthy. Thank you to our well-wishers for their love and support.”

The ‘Sacred Games’ star was also spotted arriving at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on February 21 along with his son Taimur and sister-in-law Karisma Kapoor. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli: Bollywood actress and producer Anushka Sharma and Indian cricketer Virat Kohli welcomed their baby girl, Vamika, into their lives last month. Like Kapoor Khan, the actress chose to deliver at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital. Kohli took to his Instagram to confirm the news of them becoming first-time parents. Their pregnancy alert post originated in Dubai when Kohli was in the UAE to play for the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches. “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you for all your love, prayers and good wishes … Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time,” he posted. The couple has also shared pictures of their growing family.

Neeti Mohan and Nihaar Pandya: On their second wedding anniversary on February 15, the ‘Ishq Wala Love’ singer Neeti Mohan and her husband Nihaar Pandya shared some happy news with their fans by announcing that they were expecting their first child. The loved-up couple took to Instagram to reveal their pregnancy news and posted a series of loved-up pictures of their maternity photoshoot. Images of Pandya cradling Mohan’s bump is a keeper.

Kalki Koechlin and Guy Hershberg: Last February, this time Kalki Koechlin was blessed with a baby girl named Sappho. An advocate of water-birth, her labour lasted a whopping 17 hours. Koechlin famously thanked her mid-wife who assisted her during childbirth and gave a big shout to all those who had gone through the same ordeal of bringing life onto Earth. “Thank you for all the good wishes and positive energy pouring in. And respect to all the women who go through the intense and gruesome experience of birth, be it vaginal or c section, so many of whom are not given credit or support for the biggest challenges they face, but are expected to do it out of some kind of duty. The process takes a huge toll both psychological and physical and should have the backing of an entire community to truly heal,” wrote Koechlin. Sappho is Koechlin’s first child with her pianist-boyfriend Guy Hershberg.

Anita Hassanadani and Rohit Reddy: TV and film actress Anita Hassanadani, who was thorough about updating her fans about her pregnancy milestones, including adorable maternity photoshoots and dancing with her bump videos, gave birth to a baby boy on February 9 this year. They have named him Aaarav. TV producer mogul Ekta Kapoor visited the new parents at the hospital and posted pictures of a glowing-but-tired new mother in a hospital gown. Their pregnancy announcement was also intimate. “It just felt like the perfect timing. We have been together for 10 years, out of which we have been married for seven years. We were absolutely ready. We wanted to settle with a baby this year and it happened perfectly,” said Reddy. He also slipped in a heartwarming anecdote. “My father was in a hospital for a month. Anita got herself tested there. She told me she was pregnant. We were overwhelmed. Dad was right in front of me. And I told her he is coming back.”
