After Vicky-Katrina wedding, Bollywood actress Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain officially married

It may be Christmas time in the rest of the world, but for those in Bollywood, the winter nip in the air usually signals the breaking out of lehengas and other traditional garb and getting ready for a slew of weddings. This year has seen a flurry of nuptials already. First there was Rajkummar Rao, who married his long-time girlfriend Patralekhaa, then there was Katrina Kaif who wed Kaushal over the weekend. Now even as the embers of the most recent Rajasthan wedding cool, the late Sushant Singh’s ex-girlfriend actor Ankita Lokhande has tied the knot.

On Tuesday evening, the couple married in a spectacular ceremony at Mumbai's Grand Hyatt Hotel in front of family and friends including actors Amruta Khanvilkar, Mahhi Vij, Srishty Rode, and Aparna Dixit.

Ankita looked stunning in a gold bridal lehenga designed by Manish Malhotra for the wedding, while Vicky Jain looked stunning in an ivory sherwani.

Friends of the couple Amruta Khanvilkar, Srishty Rode, and Aparna Dixit shared glimpses of Ankita- Vicky's wedding of the newlyweds.

Vicky can be seen tying the mangalsutra around Pavitra Rishta actress Ankita's neck and applying sindoor as well.

Every wedding function was lavishly planned by the newlyweds.

Lokhande and her groom-to-be Vicky Jain posted a pre-wedding video of themselves, seemingly confirming the news on her Instagram on 12 December. The video, which is shot in Dubai, is as much an ode to the couple as it is to the city. The reel begins with the couple walking on a dune, pans to them on a yacht with the famous skyline in the backdrop, and ends with them hugging as the sun sets.

On Sunday reportedly Lokhande and Jain were engaged in a ceremony in Mumbai. Their mehendi ceremony was held on Saturday night and the festivities continued the next day. Incidentally, Kaif’s wedding was held on December 9

At the engagement, the performers did what performers do best – they entertained. With a couple dance and with a solo act. Lokhande danced to Ellie Goulding’s hit song ‘Love Me Like You Do’. They also cut a cake at the party.

Following their grand mehendi and engagement ceremony, on December 13, the couple hosted their Haldi party. Amruta Khanvilkar, , Ankita's best friend Amruta also shared a photo of the lovely bride and groom-to-be getting haldi-drenched.

Lokhande was all smiles in the photo with haldi on her face and rose petals in her hair. The Manikarnika actress stuns in a red 'Sharara'.

While Kaif’s wedding was one wrapped in secrecy, Lokhande has been posting regular updates on her own festivities. Why, last month, the couple posted a photo of themselves decked up in traditional garb and a mundavalya, which is a Maharashtrian wedding ornament tied horizontally across the forehead of the bride and the groom. “Sacred #AnVikikahani #preweddingfestivities,” she captioned the posts on social media.

Lokhande and Jain have been dating for over three years, so it’s no wonder they were so in-sync during the festivities. The bride and groom complemented each other with each turn of outfit.

For the mehendi ceremony, for instance, they chose an ivory and floral colour palette; their outfits were tailor-made by designer Siddhartha Bansal.

Lokhande also shared photos from her bachelorette party, which included friends Rashami Desai, Mrunal Thakur, Mahhi Vij, Aparna Dixit, Srishty Rode and others.

For the unversed Lokhande dated late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Rajput was found dead in his home last year, with the autopsy ruling out foul play in 2020. His death made headlines and was followed by investigations into the circumstances surrounding his demise.
