After zombies, now an AI romance? Jisoo doesn't stop with the surprises.

Netflix has officially greenlit a new Korean romantic comedy series, tentatively titled Boyfriend on Demand. The show will star Blackpink's Jisoo alongside Seo In-guk (Doom at Your Service, Café Minamdang) in the lead roles.

The drama revolves around a webtoon producer struggling with her demanding career, who stumbles into love through a subscription-based virtual reality dating service. Jisoo will portray Seo Mi-rae, a dedicated creative professional whose romantic life takes an unexpected turn when she receives a 'Monthly Boyfriend' device, allowing her to interact with seemingly flawless virtual partners.

Seo In-guk takes on the role of Park Kyeong-nam, a rival webtoon producer who seems cold and distant, but as we know, still waters run deep.

Directed by Kim Jung-sik, who is known for his work on Work Later, Drink Now and No Gain No Love.

For Jisoo, Boyfriend on Demand marks her latest acting project after her well-received performances in Disney+ and JTBC’s Snowdrop and Prime Video’s Newtopia. The latter, which premiered in February, follows a couple’s struggle to reunite amid a zombie outbreak in Seoul, with Park Jeon-min playing military conscript Lee Jae-yoon and Jisoo as Kang Young-joo, an ambitious young professional.

Beyond acting, Jisoo recently signed a global deal with Warner Records for her solo music career. Her debut solo mini-album, Amortage, released on February 14.
