Bayaan wins the Battle of the Bands

Pepsi Battle of the Bands’s season three concluded on September 2 with a well-deserved win for Bayaan, a young band of boys, in what turned out to be a truly ‘grand’ finale episode. Where Bayaan walked away with the trophy as well as a cash prize, the runner-up Xarb also took home a fairly handsome cash award. Aside from the hysteria that the BOTB had created among the youth of Pakistan, over the course of its seven episodes, with people from all over the globe voting online for their favourite band, the finale was marked by a bunch of exclusive performances by the show judges Meesha Shafi and Fawad Khan.

Both Shafi and Khan presented their original tracks which, interestingly, sounded quite familiar, especially Khan’s Satrangi, which he had also composed, called to mind AR Rehman’s Dil Se and Satrangi Re.
