Instagram accounts of actor Mahira Khan and singer Atif Aslam are inaccessible from India
Dubai: Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor was all set to star opposite Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in his much-anticipated Bollywood comeback film Abir Gulaal.
However, following the April terror attack in Pahalgam, the project has come under fire and now faces significant hurdles.
According to a PTI report, the Indian government has decided not to allow the release of the film in the country.
Shortly after the incident, all traces of Abir Gulaal—including posters, teasers, and behind-the-scenes photos with Fawad Khan—were removed from Vaani Kapoor’s Instagram account.
A report on NDTV also suggest that the actress did not delete the content herself. The posts were originally shared as Instagram collabs, and once the production team removed their original uploads, the shared content disappeared from Kapoor’s feed automatically.
This development comes amid a wider clampdown on digital visibility of Pakistani artists. Instagram accounts belonging to Fawad Khan, Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, and Atif Aslam are reportedly no longer accessible from India.
