Poetic Strokes and The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is conducting a charity art auction of paintings by established and emerging artists from South Asia and the Middle East to raise funds for TCF’s Education Programme in Pakistan. The event titled Strokes of Hope: The Art of Making Dreams Come True will be held at the DIFC Atrium on November 11.

The auction features more than 60 paintings by artists from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the UAE such as Jamil Naqsh, Sujata Bajaj, Atul Panase, Jamal Ahmed and master calligrapher Hassan Massoudy.

The paintings will be on display from 11am to 9pm and all art lovers are invited to view the works and place their bids for a silent auction. A private by-invitation-only reception and live auction will be held from 6pm onwards.

TCF is a non-profit organisation set up in 1995 by a group of citizens who wanted to bring about positive social change through education. It builds and operates schools in urban slums and rural areas across Pakistan to educate underprivileged children. It currently runs 1441 school units providing education to 204,000 children, with nearly half of the students being girls. It has also adopted government schools across Pakistan to increase its reach. It is registered with International Humanitarian City, Dubai, and the United Nations Organisation and has chapters in several western countries.

“Our team has a passion and commitment to create meaningful and enduring change through education and we recognise the importance of art and its profound role in education. We believe art has the power to unite people and usher a positive change in society. We hope this art auction will bring the UAE community together to support our efforts,” Sarah Siddique, CEO of TCF says.

Ayesha Imtiaz, founder of Dubai-based art platform Poetic Strokes adds, “As an ardent supporter of TCF I am proud to organise and curate this art auction. Most of the works in the auction have been donated, and we are grateful for the support we have received from artists, galleries and collectors in the UAE and Pakistan. We hope to get a similar response to the auction, which offers a unique opportunity to acquire quality artworks at reasonable prices while also supporting a good cause.”
