Abu Dhabi: The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) and Besix signed an agreement to operate and maintain an existing wastewater treatment plant in Al Saja’a area in Sharjah.

In a statement on Monday, Shurooq and Besix said a newly formed company Qatra will develop and expand the wastewater infrastructure in line with Sharjah’s master plan.

The expansion plans include maximising the amount of reused water produced to double the capacity from 30 million litres of high-recycled water to per day to 60 million litres per day, mainly for industrial use.
