Infinity is investing heavily in new property worth $500m in Zanzibar and Tanzania
Infinity Developments has rapidly emerged as one of Zanzibar’s largest property developers, spearheading transformative real estate projects on the island while operating from its headquarters in Dubai, UAE.
The family-run real estate conglomerate is optimistic about the future of Africa and is investing heavily in Tanzania. It has positioned itself as one of the largest real estate developers in the region with a gross development value of more than $500 million (Dh1.8 billion). This is set to increase to more than $1 billion before the end of 2026.
Under the leadership of Samuel Saba, Founder and Chairman of Infinity Group and Infinity Developments, the group’s influence in East Africa has grown significantly. It directly employs more than 850 people worldwide, leveraging Dubai’s resources and expertise to drive projects in foreign markets like Tanzania and beyond. The company has established a major presence in Zanzibar with a local office and workforce, while keeping its primary base in Dubai.
Infinity Developments is behind some of the largest and most high-profile developments in Zanzibar, including the $200-million luxury resort, Anantara Zanzibar Resort and Residences.
“The government of Zanzibar has done a fantastic job in promoting the island, and as a result we have seen tremendous growth that has never been experienced before,” explains Saba. “We are looking forward to welcoming guests when the resort opens in 2027.”
Ambitious projects, regional expertise and a reputation for excellence have fuelled Infinity’s rise in East Africa.
Backed by 20 plus years of global business experience, Infinity’s leadership has built strong relationships in Zanzibar and expanded into other East African markets.
Known for its trust-based client relationships and high service standards, it continues to grow its portfolio and reputation through performance.
Infinity Group’s success is matched by its commitment to giving back. Through the Infinity Foundation, the group is investing in heritage preservation and community development across Zanzibar. The foundation’s philosophy is grounded in sustainability and community empowerment. It engages local talent, uses traditional techniques, and offers training programmes to pass on critical skills.
In collaboration with local authorities, Infinity Foundation launched the Stone Town Repainting Initiative. The goal was to repaint and restore more than 2,700 buildings in Stone Town, the island’s historic Unesco-listed centre. This project helped preserve cultural identity while improving the urban experience for residents and visitors alike.
Infinity Foundation has also converted multiple public spaces. It was instrumental in transforming the old High Court building to the new Zanzibar Judicial Museum and the Mnazi Mmoja Gardens into a thriving public park.
Infinity Foundation is also building the Zanzibar Orphanage in Nungwi that will house more than 80 young orphan Zanzibari girls.
Beyond real estate, Infinity Group is helping shape East Africa’s future in a way that honours its past, showing that responsible development and social impact can go hand in hand.
