Al-Saghir Group’s NPPF expands production capacity across the UAE and GCC
Al-Saghir Group’s National Polystyrene Packaging Factory (NPPF) recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. One of the key investments of Al-Saghir Group that began its operations in the UAE in 1979, NPPF has increased its production capacity and opened new branches across the country and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region over the years. These expansions have helped the company meet the demands of the growing construction sector in the UAE and GCC countries.
A gala dinner was organised by Al-Saghir Group to mark the occasion. Saeed Al-Saghir, Founder of Al-Saghir Group; Retd General Nasser Abdul Razzaq Al Razouqi, Partner at NPPF; Asem Mohammad Ababneh, Consul General of Jordan in Dubai and the northern emirates; Obaid Salem Al Shamsi; representatives from the Dubai Central Laboratory; and other dignitaries attended the event.
“We celebrate 30 years of production, success, and achievements," said Saeed Al-Saghir at the dinner. NPPF has played a key role in supplying polystyrene block products to numerous major construction and real estate projects. Some of the notable projects include Zayed National Museum, Museum of the Future, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Atlantis the Palm Hotel, Marsa Al Arab, Al Habtoor City, Dubai Floating Bridge, Dubai Festival City and Capital Building in Abu Dhabi and significant construction, real estate, and economic projects.
In his speech, Saeed reflected on the company's three decades of pioneering achievements. He emphasised its commitment to quality and innovation, stating that the company has grown from humble beginnings to become a leader in the manufacturing sector and is known for its sustainable practices and advanced solutions.
He also reflected on how the group has grown to include several companies across sectors. Today, Al-Saghir Group has a diverse portfolio of companies and investments including Saeed Al-Saghir General Trading, Rawnaq NPPF for decoration, engraving, and interior design works, and Al-Tilal Transport and Shipping Company, among others.
He spotlighted the group's expansion efforts, noting that the group decided early on to open new branches. This vision was realised in 2017 with the launch of its Gulf branch in Qatar, and the group is working on opening a new branch in Saudi Arabia.
"As we celebrate this great achievement, we reflect on our rich history, express our gratitude to our dedicated team and creative professionals and look forward to a future full of opportunities and success,” he said. “We continue our creative journey and fruitful path under the umbrella of development, innovation, and a commitment to always providing the best."
Mohammed Saeed Al-Saghir, General Manager of NPPF, shared his insights during the event. He emphasised the factory's commitment to sustainability and environmental conservation, explaining that the production of polystyrene promotes energy conservation, reduces waste, and enhances building safety.
The factory supports sustainability through a programme that recycles all waste generated from the manufacturing processes, contributing to environmental preservation. The factory is also working on installing solar panels over an area of 5,640 square metres, demonstrating its commitment to clean energy transition.
Moreover, the factory has obtained a compliance certificate from the Central Laboratory and the Dubai Municipality, making the use of polystyrene a mandatory material in buildings to conserve energy.
Mohammed highlighted the factory's innovative approach to environmental sustainability. He mentioned that NPPF has introduced a new recycling method using crushing machines to convert polystyrene into reusable and environmentally safe pellets.
NPPF is the first factory in the UAE and the Middle East to receive a compliance certificate from the Dubai Central Laboratory at Dubai Municipality, as well as certifications from the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council. The factory has also earned ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications, along with numerous local and international quality and compliance certificates.
The factory supports and promotes energy consumption optimisation by producing thermal insulation materials that exemplify the efficient use of energy in buildings. The benefits of thermal insulation include energy savings, reduced loads, smaller air conditioning and heating units, fewer operating hours and lower maintenance costs. Additionally, thermal insulation ensures the highest level of thermal comfort for individuals inside the building. It also extends the building lifespan and protects the building from cracks and damages.
