Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday received Edi Rama, Albania’s Prime Minister.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, was present.

Shaikh Mohammad and Rama discussed bilateral relations between the UAE and Albania, and ways to develop them in light of available opportunities for investments in tourism, trade, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Shaikh Mohammad said the UAE welcomes any friendly nation that wishes to build investment partnerships with it.

“The UAE is a peace-loving country of equality between genders, ethnicities and religions, and it is keen on building relations with countries who share the same values of peace, serving humanity and achieving stability for their own people, as well as people all around the world,” he said.

Rama expressed the desire of the Albanian government to extend new bridges of cooperation with the UAE, and seize opportunities to develop bilateral cooperation for the benefit of both nations. He emphasised that his country can benefit from Emirati expertise in the field of infrastructure, aviation and ports.

Rama also spoke about his country’s desire to facilitate air travel between the UAE and Albania through Emirates airlines to intensify tourism, cultural and trade communication and strengthen other areas of cooperation.

Present were Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, and other senior officials.
