PrivAE, founded by a Franco-Moroccan couple recently moved from France to the UAE,will introduce the first private sales platform in the region, a media release said. Inspired by the success of private sales platforms in Europe, PrivAE aims to offer exclusive, limited-time sales of high-end and local brands. According to the release, the name combines “Priv” for private sales and “AE” for the UAE, reflecting its mission to provide a unique shopping experience tailored to the local market.

The concept of private sales, widely successful in Europe, involves offering exclusive, members-only access to branded products at significant discounts during limited-time events. Private sales platforms like Veepee and Showroom Privé have demonstrated the popularity of this model in France, where consumers eagerly anticipate these exclusive events, promoters say.

According to them, PrivAE differentiates itself in the UAE market by filling a gap in unmet demand for specialized private sales platforms. The platform plans to offer a diverse range of products beyond fashion, including electronics, home décor, jewelry, and cosmetics. “PrivAE is designed to revolutionize the shopping experience in the UAE by offering exclusive access to both luxury brands and local hidden gems at competitive prices. Our goal is to make PrivAE a daily habit for users, much like checking their favorite social media platforms“, said Tayeb CHLYAH, Co-Founder of PrivAE.

PrivAE intends to create a sense of urgency and exclusivity with its limited-time sales, offering new sales each week that last only for a few days, according to the media release. This model leverages the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) effect, driving consumer engagement and frequent visits. Typically, 50% of a brand’s stock is sold at full price, 30% at a reduced price during sales, and the remaining 20% often faces destruction. PrivAE aims to give this dormant stock a second life, making luxury accessible and reducing waste.
