Emirates Cricket Board congratulates Australia in being crowned ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 champions after claiming victory in the final played at Dubai International Stadium last night.
Emirates Cricket Board Chairman, His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan extended his thanks to the International Cricket Council and the BCCI for having confidence in the UAE to deliver the UAE-leg in what is regarded as the pinnacle of the short-form of the game.
The Board also applauded all individuals and entities who assisted with the organization and smooth running of the tournament; including the UAE Ministry of Health, UAE General Authority of Sport, Departments of Tourism, Sports Councils in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, the respective Emirates’ police and security forces and emergency care personnel, as well as supporters and partners of Emirates Cricket and all stadia management and workers in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.
“The scale of hosting an international sports-event of this magnitude, which saw 16 countries vie for the ultimate reward in T20 cricket, across three-Emirates was a mammoth undertaking. We are extremely proud of the efforts of all who contributed to this task and to have added another successful, high-profile event to the UAE’s impressive sporting calendar.” said His Highness.
