Dubai: Selfdrive, the car rental tech platform, is adding its coverage to Qatar and Bahrain after a recent entry into Oman. The company aims to acquire 50-65 per cent of the online car rental share in these markets.

Customers in the region have access to over 5,000 vehicles available for rentals for periods ranging from a day to 36 months. There are also Subscription (micro-lease) and LeasePro (lease-to-own) features available. “Our expansion into Bahrain and Qatar is an indicator of the changing landscape of the automotive rental market in the region and beyond,” said Soham Shah, CEO of Selfdrive. “We plan to add further new markets in the Middle East and are actively looking at other regions globally as business goes from strength to strength.”

Selfdrive is now looking at Saudi and Kuwait markets. Further plans are afoot to venture into the UK and Europe. There are plans to expand features in the app, with new functionalities later this year.
