Qatar Airways hub handles 17.6m passengers in first half

Half-year passenger numbers increase 20%

Doha: Qatar Airways hub Hamed International in Doha recorded a 20 per cent increase in the number of passengers using the airport in the first half of the year.

The airport, which opened in 2014, handled 17.6 million passengers in the six months to June 30 compared to 14.6 million in the same year-ago period, a statement on its website said on Sunday.

The amount of cargo handled at the airport grew by 20.3 per cent to 817,792 tonnes, the statement said.
