London: Brighton and Hove Albion have signed Malian midfielder Yves Bissouma from French club Lille on a five-year contract, the Premier League side has said.

The 21-year-old, who has earned 13 caps for his country, made 55 appearances for Lille after making his senior debut for the Ligue 1 side in 2016.

“He is someone with good technical ability on the ball, and has good experience at a relatively young age, after playing regularly in a competitive French league for the past two seasons,” Brighton manager Chris Hughton told the club website.

Bissouma is Brighton’s sixth signing in the current window as the Seagulls aim to improve on their 15th-placed league finish from last season.
