I find it difficult to stick to an exercise regime and cannot afford personal training. Do you have any suggestions?

Sticking to an exercise regime can be a difficult thing to do, especially if you are just starting out on your workout journey. Group classes can be a really wonderful start. My suggestion is to find a class time that works for you, and at the beginning of each week book yourself into that time slot for two or three days. This way you will already have it scheduled and all you have to do is show up. Also, if showing up is an issue, finding a friend to exercise with can be a fun way of sharing the experience, and also keep you accountable.

I have started running but I am not losing weight. Why?

Running and cardio can be a great way of losing weight, but if you aren’t seeing results with just cardio alone, adding in weight training can be the key. Use a combination of cardio and weight training, which is an effective means of weight loss. And don’t worry — you won’t become too bulky. The combination of running and using light to medium weights is what we use to see the best fat loss, resulting a toned and shredded look.

I have never exercised before but my doctor says I need to lose weight to reduce my blood pressure and cholesterol levels. How and where do I start?

The best advice I can give for this is start today. I hear so many people say, “Oh, I’ll come take a class once I’m in better shape.” The reality is you don’t need to be in better shape to start taking classes — you take a class to get into better shape. Our gym caters for all fitness levels. All you have to do is sign up, show up, and we have you covered from there.
