This rendering of what a supercar from the British carmaker could look like sure has a lot of potential... Image Credit: Rain Prisk

The Wraith. Phantom. Ghost. Cullinan. Without a shadow of a doubt, the current crop of vehicles that Rolls-Royce makes are super - but the storied carmaker does not have a supercar in the portfolio and never has. But, what if the Brits decided to build one? It would very probably be an alternative to the Bentley Continental GT or even a Bugatti fighter in terms of exclusivity and price. It would even share the same clientele so a market already exists and now, so does a rendering of such a thing - and it looks very interesting indeed…

If you think a proposal such as thing would never get off the ground then you’re probably right (but didn’t we all say the same thing about them building an SUV? Look what happened there…) however this illustration by artist Rain Prisk has got tongues wagging online. He says the rendering was done just for fun and was a pointless exercise of imagination - and to be clear, it is not endorsed by Rolls-Royce at all. But, it looks good and the potential is there.

The front end features a mini version of the classic Rolls-Royce grille and it has styling cues from the Wraith including the roof and elements of the profile. In fact just a glance is all that is needed to see it is clearly from the Rolls family. The Spirit of Ecstasy sits on the bonnet and is the only thing that looks a little awkward. It’s been designed to have a mid-engined layout (the cabin sits quite far forward – and you can only imagine how luxurious it would be…) and the suicide doors are a nice touch as are the Rolls-Royce wheels with floating centre caps.

But, should it have a legendary 6.75-litre V12 - or an electric powertrain? It’s a hypothetical question of course as the carmaker won’t be playing in the supercar-hypercar game but honestly speaking, with every carmaker scrambling to be in every segment, we can’t see a reason for such a car not to exist…
