Dubai: Al Wasl have announced the departure of Argentine coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena after the club decided not to renew his contract.
“Following a meeting with the technical committee, Al Wasl announces the non-renewal of Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s contract,” the club tweeted on Sunday, with a picture of the coach captioned ‘thanks for the memories’.
“Al Wasl thanks the coach and his staff for their presentation of the club and wishes them success in their future career.”
The former Boca Juniors boss joined Al Wasl in the summer of 2016 and led them to a second place league finish in his first season, also reaching the semi-finals of the UAE League Cup and the quarter-finals of the President’s Cup.
This season he followed it up by finishing third in the league and reaching the finals of both cup competitions, but in the Asian Champions League, his side was knocked out in the group stages.
