Bollywood actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar, best known for playing negative roles in films, is critically ill in hospital, according to doctors.

The 64-year-old, who has starred in films Ardhasatya and Sadak, was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital two weeks ago after being diagnosed with a lung infection.

“Amrapurkar has been hospitalised for the past two weeks. He is suffering from complete respiratory failure and is critical. A team of doctors is doing its best to ensure his recovery,” said Dr Santosh Shetty, chief operating officer at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Saturday.

Amrapurkar was last seen in 2012 film Bombay Talkies.
