No vacant spot to park in Hor Al Anz

Dubai: Gulf News reader Garie Quirante captured this picture of motorists blatantly ignoring road regulations in Hor Al Anz, Dubai. Many have no other choice but to risk a fine.

The community reporter said: "There is a shortage of parking spaces in this area. A lot of residents park their cars on pavements overnight and then move their vehicles into parking zones before 8am, when spaces free up."

Quirante said it was not always possible to do this on time and several motorists inevitably get fined.

"These people are in a fix — the authorities should build more parking spaces for them," said Quirante.
