We’ve all heard the expression, ‘An apple a day, keeps the doctor away!’ But it has been scientifically proven that owning a pet is far better for your well-being than a simple apple. Walking your dog or cat is of course great exercise as is playing with them in the garden; frisbee, football, chase, etc. Pets are the best cure for stress and depression, too. How many times do we feel sad or on edge or worried about something and as soon as we look at our pet a warmth comes across us, caressing them makes us feel calm and harmonious, not to mention they make us smile and laugh. When you have a pet, you are never alone. So, I would say, having a pet forever, keeps our health together!

These animals are looking for their forever homes and you could be the one to take them home for a healthier future.

Harvey - Animal Action Abu Dhabi

Harvey looks a little different, which means he isn’t getting adopted. He is now stuck in a crate at the vet as his time in his foster home ran out and no one came forth to adopt him in time. From his previous foster mum: ”Harvey is a fantastic cat, when it is just me and him, but he is really very scared of visitors. He hides in my bed under the blanket in his “cat cave”. He lets me sleep all night without much interruption, while he sleeps on the sofa. In the morning he follows me around purring to remind me to give him breakfast. He loves playing by himself with his little mice. For more information about Harvey, please click here or contact Animal Action on animal.action@hotmail.com

Dishi - Feline Friends

Dishi eats her dry food but seems to have a passion for fish or seafood as she turns hysterical just at the smell of it and chases her foster parents to get a bit; she would not taste any other food as chicken or meat, but nonetheless, her diet is exclusively based on Royal Canin and fresh water. Dishi also plays a lot, she runs and she is very active. Her fosterers play with her to give her (and them!) entertainment and she is fond of her toys as well. Risa - Rosso Carota Rescues Cats

Risa was rescued at the beginning of 2014, on the last days of pregnancy and with a bad old fracture of the ulna and radius. Given that she is very friendly and not a young cat, we assume that Risa was in the past a domestic cat, who was thrown into the street. She successfully gave birth to five kittens and then she underwent two surgeries. Now she is fine (slight limp), eight years old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and de-wormed. She does not require special attention, friendly, quiet, relaxing, sleeps almost 18-20 hours a day. For more information about Risa, please click here or contact Rosso Carota on natalyasubbota@gmail.com

Jimmy - Rosso Carota Rescues Cats

Jimmy appeared out of nowhere in a colony of street cats in Sharjah. Chances are he was thrown out by his previous owner, because he was cute and affectionate, a semi-fluffy kitten and was attacked by street cats. His rescuer mum took him to the hospital because he was walking strange. The vet diagnosed a longtime dislocated hip. He received treatment and now he feels great! For more information about Jimmy, please click here or contact Rosso Carota on natalyasubbota@gmail.com
