The world’s largest book is on display in the capital.

Showcased at the Al Wahda Mall till the end of Ramadan, the book titled This is Muhammad is the first Arabic book that has made it to the Guinness Book of Records on five counts.

Besides being the largest, the 431-page book is also the longest (five metres), widest (8.06 metres), heaviest (1,500kg) and the most expensive (Dh11 million).

The book is accompanied by a one million signature campaign under which people are encouraged to register their signatures in a peace-loving gesture.

The book has been written by Saudi author Abdullah Abdul Aziz Al Muslih and revolves around the life of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). The book has toured all major malls in the UAE. From Al Wahda Mall the book will be sent to another GCC country to continue to spread the message of charity and tolerance.

Mohammad Nauman Thakur, general manager, Al Wahda Mall, said, “Visitors are invited to click pictures with the book and participate in the one million signature campaign as this is the last opportunity to witness the book in the region.”

Dr Mohammad Saeed Al Awlaki, chairman of Mashahad International Group and owner of the largest book, said, “Since its inception, the book has won 22 international and local awards. It was created by over 300 workers and 15 scientists from around the world over nine months.”
