Open from 4 to 10pm on weekdays and 2 to 10pm on weekends, the aquatic experience allows visitors to dive into an underwater environment, explore a Mermaid’s Hideout, a pirate’s cove and interact with various characters. There are dedicated zones for different kinds of art, word searches and magic shows.

The spokesperson said, “The venue (located next to Hub Zero) has been redesigned as an under-the-sea environment with a flow of contemporary movement (dance) reflecting the ocean and acrobatic sea creatures surrounding a ruthless mermaid. There are roaming characters from a live show, light puppets and other creatures too.”

Visitors can also take part in the first-of-its-kind scavenger hunt under the sea. All they have to do is ask for their “passport” at the information desk and use it solve clues along a mapped path.

The winning team has to collect a secret word at the Mermaid’s Hideout to bag the prize. The aim of the aquatic experience is not just to entertain but also educate visitors on the importance of preserving marine life. Through touch technology and augmented reality, the gaming arena covers many subjects like pollution, responsible fishing and marine conservation.

Access to Under the Sea is complimentary for two children and two adults on a minimum spend of Dh200 at any outlet across City Walk. So make the most of the free experience till it lasts.
