Abu Dhabi: Hotshot South Indian movie stars will dazzle in Abu Dhabi at the 6th South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) being held here this weekend.
Megastar Mohanlal and Bahubali actor Rana Daggubati are among many other A-listers who will walk the red carpet during the two-day extravaganza.
Supported by the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (ADTCA), SIIMA recognises talent and excellence of the South Indian movie industry on a global platform.

While the awards for Telugu and Kannada films will be presented on the first day (June 30) celebrities from Tamil and Malayalam will be feted on the second day.
Sultan Al Dhaheri, acting executive director for Tourism at TCA Abu Dhabi, said: “We are delighted that Abu Dhabi has been chosen as the official host destination for this year’s SIIMA event. We can now look forward to welcoming some of the biggest names in the South Indian film industry, as well as their legions of fans, to our wonderful emirate, as we build awareness of our destination.”

Raising the bar
“South Indian cinema has been creating benchmarks and setting high standards in movie making. SIIMA is taking South Indian cinema and artists closer to its fans across the globe,” added Daggubati whose recently released movie Baahubali has been breaking box office records worldwide.
Global technological company VIVO is the title sponsor and event partners are Era entertainment.
Naveen Saldanha, managing director of SIIMA’s destination Royal Arabian said Abu Dhabi will create a gorgeous backdrop for the awards night.
