Dubai: It’s Christmas already in Dubai as a boutique night market kicks in the celebrations this week.

The market, hosted by Australian café Tom & Serg in Al Quoz, will mark the festivities in true Christmas in July spirit, on the same lines as the Christmas celebration held in July in Australia and other countries in the southern hemisphere. The reason why Christmas is marked in July (in addition to December) by these countries is to get a winter feel of the festivities as the regular Christmas Day - December 25 - invariably falls in summer in the southern hemisphere.

Homegrown brands

The Christmas in July market will have a fun and vibrant flair to it as more than 30 of Dubai’s popular homegrown brands showcase everything from fashion and culture to art and food.

Tom & Serg which is teaming up with Muchachas, has planned many treats for visitors, including street corn quesos, crispy chicken wings with tamarind glaze, churros bucket with chocolate sauce, crispy matcha tacos with black sesame ice-cream.

The homegrown hospitality company Bull & Roo which runs Tom & Serg will also announce Christmas offers for December, besides exclusive discounts for the year-end promotions.
