Dubai: A domestic worker has been arrested for the suspected murder of a Nepalese woman in Emirates Hill.

Details are sketchy, but initial reports suggest the murder took place in a villa where the suspect worked as a cleaner.

He reportedly dumped the body of the woman in the bushes behind the house.

The man, also of Nepali origin, was arrested at his employer’s villa on May 21, hours after the murder.

Spent night with killer

The woman is said to spent the night with the suspect in the villa which belongs to an Indian family.

“CCTV footage showed the woman had come to meet the cleaner in a taxi. It’s believed the murder was the fallout of a fight,” Emirates Hills security staff told XPRESS on conditions of anonymity.

“The woman’s body was found around 7am on Sunday by some cleaners. They informed us and we immediately called the police,” he said.

A resident said the woman was short and appeared to be in her mid-twenties.

The victim, believed to be in his early thirties, was hacked to death by a relative.
