DUBAI XPRESS has bagged the Global Village Media Award 2015 for ‘Best Article in English Publication’. The feature titled “Rickshawallahs at your service in Global Village” was written by XPRESS Staff Reporter Anjana Kumar and published on January 29.
The award was presented to Kumar by Shaikh Mansoor bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai International Marine Club at a special function held in Zabeel Saray. It comprises a trophy and prize of Dh7,000 worth of gold coins.
Kumar’s entry on the human interest story of rickshawallahs making a living at Global Village beat other applications received by the jury.
Africa was adjudged best pavilion, while India’s Bollywood museum bagged the ‘Best Pavillion Initiative’. Thailand and Turkey won ‘Best façade’ and cultural show on Monday night.
