Abu Dhabi: A Bangladeshi cattle-herder in Abu Dhabi has won Dh1 million in a lucky draw as part of the Al Ansari Exchange Millionaire Promotion 2015.
Mizanur Rahman Abdul Wahab, 37, who has been eking out a living by herding cattle at a livestock farm in the capital for 20 years, became eligible for the raffle when he remitted Dh1,039 to his home country recently.
Wahab said he had never imagined the transaction would change his life in such a way. “The prize money will help me achieve my dream of building a home and securing the future of my family and sisters. I want to provide a good education for my children and look forward to investing the money in a business that could bring about a positive change in the lives of youngsters in my hometown in Bangladesh. I also plan to buy a car so that I can visit new places in my country,” he added.
Winners of other categories in the two-month long promotion got Dh50,000, Dh25,000, Dh15,000 and Dh10,000 each.
