Dubai: The 2017 Arab Summit wrapped up its meeting with a series of common positions on the region. The Palestinian conflict remained a top concern for Arab security as well as the political solution to end Syria’s civil war.
Saudi Arabia will host next year’s Arab Summit meeting.

-The summit calls on Iran to stop fomenting sectarianism in the region
-The summit condemns Iran’s continued occupation of three UAE islands
-The summit backs the Saudi-led Arab coalition fighting to restore Yemen’s legitimate government
-The summit says unity is the cornerstone of Arab national security
-The summit says Iraqi unity and stability is a key component of Arab national security
-The summit praises states that refuse to move their embassies from Tel Aviv to Israeli-Occupied Jerusalem
-The summit reinforces its backing of the Arab Peace Initiative which offers Israel a comprehensive peace with Arab nations in exchange for withdrawing from 1967 borders and occupied Palestinian territories.
-The summit calls for the resumption of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks based on the two-state solution
-The summit rejects Israel’s candidacy for membership to the Security Council in 2019-2020
-The summit says a political solution is the only way forward in Syria and calls for the intensification of efforts to achieve this
-The summit calls on nations to boost support for Syria’s neighbours who bear the brunt of the refugee crisis
-The summit rejects foreign intervention in Libya
-The Summit says the way forward in Libya should be based on the national reconciliation deal reached in the Moroccan city of Skhirat
-The summit rejects atrocities against the Muslim minority in Myanmar.
-The summit expresses its concern over the growing trend of Islamophobia and warns such sentiments only benefit terrorist groups.
