Teacher dies after being run over in RAK

Ras Al Khaimah: A 50-year-old pedestrian died after being run over here on Saturday, an official told Gulf News on Sunday.

The victim, identified as N.Z.E., worked as an Islamic Studies teacher at Ghaleila School.

A speeding vehicle driven by an Emirati motorist ran over the victim while he was crossing the road from an undesignated crossing area in Al Rams Road in front of the police station. Police patrols and an ambulance rushed to the spot and found the victim bleeding. He was shifted to hospital where he died later. The driver has been taken into custody for questioning.
