Dubai resident Adrian Meronk has decided to call it quits with his coach of 14 years, Matthew Tipper, after a disappointing start to his LIV Golf career.

Tipper, who is one of the most sought-after short game specialists in the game, made the announcement on X with a statement that began: “After 14 years, sometimes things just come to an end. Last week, Adrian decided he wanted to go a new way and I have to respect that decision. I knew in 2010 he was a great talent and he has only gone on to prove that all over the world.”

The duo have enjoyed plenty of success over their 14-year stint working together, with Meronk capturing four DP World Tour titles between 2022-2023. That form saw him quickly establish himself as one of the rising stars in the game, and he can count himself unlucky that he missed out on Luke Donald’s European Ryder Cup Team last year.

Despite missing out on becoming the first Pole to play in the Ryder Cup, Meronk continued his rise in the game by securing one of ten PGA Tour cards through the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai Rankings last season after finishing fourth in the season-long standings.

But the 30-year-old would never utilise his playing privileges in the States after the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League made him one of their star signings earlier this year, just a week before the circuit’s season-opening event in Mexico.

In his six outings on the breakaway tour, Meronk has mustered two top ten finishes and finds himself ranked 19th in the Individual Standings, while his team, Cleeks GC, are second from bottom in 12th.
