Sharjah Ruler honours Gulf Theatre winners

Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on Saturday night honoured winners of the 13th edition of the Gulf Theatre Festival of Civil Troupes, organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, at the Culture Palace.

At the festival’s closing ceremony, six veteran theatre personalities in the GCC were also honoured.

A documentary showing major participating theatrical works was screened.

During the festival’s opening ceremony, Dr Shaikh Sultan was honoured as the Theatre Personality of the Year in the GCC countries.

Present at the award ceremony were Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; Shaikh Salem Bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler of Sharjah’s Office; Abdul Rahman Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health; Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Culture and Information Department, and other shaikhs, senior officials, dignitaries, artists and fans.
