Shaheen-III can carry nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 2,750 kilometres

Islamabad: Pakistan on Friday conducted a “successful” test launch of Shaheen-III surface-to-surface nuclear-capable ballistic missile, the military said.
The missile can carry nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 2,750 kilometres, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
“The successful flight test with its impact point in the Arabian Sea, validated all the desired parameters,” the statement said.
It was witnessed by senior officers from strategic organisations and scientists and engineers of strategic forces.
Director-General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant-General Mazhar Jamil lauded the efforts of the scientists and engineers on achieving the “significant milestone.”
“Pakistan desires peaceful coexistence in the region for which nuclear deterrence would further strengthen strategic stability in South Asia,” he said.
He appreciated the dedication and commitment of those involved in making the launch a success.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated those involved in the successful test of the missile launch.
