Dubai: Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) on Saturday distributed Ramadan food coupons worth Dh300 each for needy families.
The “Ramadan Food Package” would have LULU Super Market vouchers worth Dh300 for each family and they can be used to buy food items from any LULU supermarket. This year the PAD would distribute these packages among 1,000 needy families.
Asif Durrani, Ambassador of Pakistan, who distributed the Ramadan coupons at the event, appreciated the efforts of the association members in helping the families in need during Ramadan.
Dr. Faisel Ikram (General Secretary-PAD) elaborated the social welfare activities of the PAD and upcoming events and activities. He said that a health awareness camp and iftar distribution will be organised by the Medical Wing of PAD in the Labour Camp on June 24. ‘Release a Prisoner’ is another welfare initiative which will be supported by the PAD by providing support to the prisoners who are stuck in jail for minor fines and unable to pay or don’t have tickets for repatriation after completion of their terms.
Eid Gifts will be provided to the needy families and in labour camp during Ramadan in addition to mosque cleaning activities. Pakistan Youth Wing of the Association will hold ‘Shukran Our City Our Cleaners’ campaign in collaboration with Dubai Municipality. The association is also holding a series of lectures focusing on different aspects of fasting and the spirit of Ramadan.
Dr. Zia ul Hasan, president of PAD, thanked the community for their valuable support towards social welfare activities. He also thanked the Community Development Authority, Red Crescent, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department for their continuous support.
