Washington: More than 170 people have been arrested from around the world in a major operation targeting international child pornographers, official said.
Attorney General Michael Mukasey and European Union representatives announced the results on Friday.
Mukasey said that 11 girls were rescued in the United States and dozens more were found in Europe in Operation Joint Hammer.
Officials said the arrests found people who traded child porn and sexually abused children.
Agents are still trying to locate child victims whose images have appeared in photos and videos. Officials expect more arrests as the investigation continues.
