London: A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a baby and young child were found dead at a house in Manchester, police said on Thursday.
Detectives said the bodies of the 3-month-old baby and 3-year-old child were found after officers were called to the house in the Cheetham Hill area in the north of the city on Wednesday night following reports of a "concern for welfare".
A 21-year-old woman has been arrested and is being questioned.
"An investigation is currently underway into the circumstances surrounding their deaths," a police spokeswoman said.
No further details about the victims or how they died were immediately available from the police, but the Manchester Evening News newspaper reported that the baby and toddler had been stabbed to death.
