US singer Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie were granted a divorce after nearly eight years of marriage at the high court in London on Friday.

London: US singer Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie were granted a divorce after nearly eight years of marriage at the high court in London on Friday.
Madonna and Ritchie did not attend the hearing.
Madonna was said to be relieved that the end of her marriage to Ritchie had been officially sealed.
According to media reports, the couple had reached a settlement that would see Madonna keep majority of her $445 million fortune.
