Dennis Cuesta had slipped into a coma after he was shot five times at close range on Tuesday.
Cuesta is the 60th fatal victim of attacks on journalists in the Philippines since 2001, the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines said.
Police had said Cuesta had been getting death threats because of his on-air attacks on gambling and drugs.
Cuesta was programme director of Radio Mindanao Network and hosted a daily talk show Straight to the Point commenting on corruption, crime and social issues.
