Manila: A hard-hitting radio commentator was killed by two motorcycle-borne gunmen in Davao City in southern Philippines on Monday morning, reports reaching Manila said.
Ferdie Lintuan, 51, had just finished hosting a morning radio programme and was driving his car when assailants fired at him just as he stopped at an intersection in the city, the state-run Philippine News Agency (PNA) said.

Two of his companions who were in the vehicle and were colleagues of the slain radio personality, survived the attack.
Lintuan was a commentator for radio station DxGO. He is the fifth person working for the media to be slain this year.
Witnesses had difficulty identifying the assailants, - who fled immediately after the shooting - because they were wearing helmets. The early morning ambush was seen by several motorists and pedestrians.
Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Secretary Jesus Dureza has asked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to help in the investigation.
"We will not allow this criminal act to go unpunished," Dureza was quoted by the report as saying. "We strongly condemn the murder of Lintuan who was shot in his car as he stopped at a junction," Dureza said.
Dureza urged all journalists to take part in solving the brutal murder of Lintuan. For his part, Philippine National Police chief Director General Avelino Razon has ordered the Regional Police Office in Davao City to arrest the perpetrators as soon as possible.
