The government moved to activate its disaster management plan on Thursday as the most powerful typhoon to hit the country this year made landfall in the Bicol region.
Manila: The government moved to activate its disaster management plan on Thursday as the most powerful typhoon to hit the country this year made landfall in the Bicol region.
President Gloria Arroyo announced that the government has taken steps to stem the effects of the latest weather disturbance.
"A multi-level disaster management plan from the national government to the local government units has been activated," the president said.
