Manila: An American national who left the United States while on probation following his conviction for drug trafficking, was deported from Manila, a senior official said.
Paul John Zambuto, 35, was onboard a Philippine Airlines flight to Los Angeles.
He was also included on the immigration blacklist for being an undesirable, overstaying and undocumented alien, said Immigration Commissioner Ricardo David Jr.
Zambuto was arrested at his apartment at the Paseo Parkview condominium on Valero Street in Salcedo Village, Makati, last November 17, said David.
On August 2, 2007, a superior court in Maricopa County, Arizona, issued a warrant for Zambuto's arrest for leaving his country while on probation.
The judicial circuit court in Palm Beach County, Florida where he was charged with trafficking and possession of cocaine has also issued a warrant of arrest against Zambuto.
This information was relayed by the US Embassy to the Philippine's Bureau of Immigration (BIR).
The US State Department had cancelled Zambuto's passport before he arrived in the Philippines in 2007.
