Tension further gripped the city as the protesters of Imran Khan’s party were planning to block the Shahrae Faisal by staging a sit-in there. The road is a major artery which connects the city with the airport.

Karachi police chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo in a statement said that no rally would be allowed at the Shahrae Faisal. However, he said that the protesters could stage their sit-in at the service road along the main road.
