Karachi: A leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), Ziauddin was gunned down on Sunday by unknown assailants in Orangi Town in the Pakistani city of Karachi, media reported.

According to police, the leader was going to offer prayers at a mosque when the gunmen targeted him, Geo News reported.

A spokesman for the Pakhtun nationalist party said that Ziauddin, an ANP district president, was already receiving threats.

The body was shifted to a hospital and later handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities.
