Pakistani election candidate shot dead

Lahore: A young candidate of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) has been shot dead along with his four supporters in Green Town area early on Monday.
Authorities mobilised the army to control the security situation in the district. Security forces have been given orders to shoot and kill.
Chaudhry Asif Ashraf was sitting in his election office when unknown gunmen opened fire. The gunmen later fled from the scene on motor bikes.
Ashraf was taken to Jinnah Hospital, along with a number of other injured supporters. Ashraf later died of gunshot wounds.
Hundreds of shocked PML-N supporters gathered outside the hospital to mourn and protest the killing of their leader.
Among those killed in the shooting were Ashraf's security guard and a supporter.
